Aura
Loved by Madonna and owned by airline mogul Tony Fernandes, motorsport entrepreneur Jonny Dodge and Supper Club owner Alberto Barbieri, it comes as no surprise that Aura Mayfair is a restaurant, cocktail bar and club that attracts London’s jet-set party people. This lavish venue is filled with leather, low lighting, and a ceiling that changes colour throughout the night, and the furnishings at Aura Mayfair have been sourced from a company that fits out superyachts and private jets. The result is a super-exclusive venue that is London’s only member of The World’s Finest Clubs. The restaurant serves modern Mediterranean food, and the sexy crowd and superb cocktail list make Aura Mayfair one of London’s premium party venues.

Banyan on Thames
Set inside London's most exclusive eco-friendly hotel, Rafael on the Left Bank, Banyan on Thames is a chic restaurant overlooking the river and the London Helipad in Battersea. With so much action right outside its sound-proofed windows, this is a fantastic place to watch the world go by. And super-tanned sun-lovers adore the riverside roof terrace for summertime dining. The Hotel Rafayel is popular with an international, glamorous yet ecologically-sensitive set of travellers, and the Banyan on Thames is open to serve them – and you - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu is a melange of European, Asian and Mediterranean flavours, fusion cuisine at its finest. Brasseria
Post-refurbishment, the ground floor restaurant of the Thistle Westminster is a picture of modernity with a Mediterranean warmth, both directly in the sunny service of manager Giovanni, and not-so-directly in the deep-red walls displaying evocative Tuscan country scenes. The simple, healthy food (no rich sauces in sight) is best exemplified in the grilled seabass, and half a chargrilled baby chicken marinated in rosemary and lemon juice – both served with new potatoes. Pick of the international wine list is a rose pinot grigio.

Brompton Quarter Brasserie
Situated on the fast-paced Brompton Road, close to Harrods, the Brompton Quarter Brasserie is an easy-going eatery with a passion for fine food and wine. The buzzing ground floor is always packed with well-heeled locals, while the downstairs dining room is a quieter and more intimate space. The Mediterranean inspired menu gives classic dishes a modern make-over – guaranteed to please the young, the seasoned and the in-betweeners. During the day, we recommend catching up with friends over easy-to-share dishes like caramelised butternut squash; grilled artichoke salad; and bocconci mozzarella. In the evening, feast on flavoursome dishes like summer pepper and zucchini lasagne or lemon and mint swordfish skewers. You won’t be disappointed!

Cassis Bistro
Cassis, a French Provençal bistro in London's South Kensington on the site of the old Oratory, is the newest offering from renowned restaurateur Marlon Abela, the man behind Michelin-starred Umu and The Greenhouse. We were already expecting great things, even before we found out that head chef David Escobar has worked at the Michelin starred Lameloise. The menu at Cassis is classic Provençal, featuring southern French classics. The wine list is extensive, featuring several wines that can't be found elsewhere in the UK, and a team of friendly sommeliers are on hand to walk you through it. If you're not a wine fan, the range of signature cocktails is also worth checking out. The interior of the restaurant has been inspired by the regional cuisine; the walls are hung with Matisse originals and oak-framed wine displays and the open fireplace makes the space particularly inviting.

Franco's
Opened in 1946 in Mayfair, Franco’s restaurant has been one of London’s most popular Italian establishments ever since. It continues to offer local gourmets a tranquil oasis away from the buzz of the city. Set at the St James’s end of Jermyn Street, Franco’s is fantastically located for the galleries, private clubs and hotels of the area. And the pre-theatre and afternoon tea menus are a delight. The restaurant’s character evolves throughout the day from the early morning breakfasts to laid-back lunches and romantic candlelit dinners in the evening. The elegant 1940’s-inspired décor is bright and modern, with light wood, off-white walls and comfy upholstered dining chairs. Franco’s sumptuous Mediterranean menu has been developed by Head Chef Paulo Parlanti and showcases fresh seasonal produce in traditional and modern Italian dishes. Popular dishes include the duck breast with Castelluccio lentils; ossobucco ravioli with veal jus; and the classic tiramisu. Service is flawless and the wine list is a winner too.

La Rueda
London’s Kings Road is full of restaurants but it can be safely said that La Rueda is among the best. This Spanish tapas restaurant oozes authenticity from every brick, beating chain tapas joints at their own game. Done out like a typical Spanish ‘meson’, La Rueda would doubtless be as comfortable on the streets of Madrid or Barcelona as here in well-heeled Fulham. Equally the menu, with its wide selection of tapas dishes, will delight. Freshly prepared and authentically made each one is a delight. With live Spanish music a regular fixture, La Rueda provides a night which guarantees to have you kicking up your heels to Latin American sounds until late.

Marco Pierre White - Frankie's Sports Bar & Grill
This unique culinary collaboration between celebrity chefs Frankie Detorri and Marco Pierre White is a jazzy affair with a sporting twist. Located at Stamford Bridge on the Fulham Road, this restaurant has a retro, 50s-style interior which gives it a part authentic pizzeria, part Italian New York diner vibe. Perfect for pre-match meals, mid-week outings or Chelsea-FC-friendly events, the restaurant attracts an upmarket crowd of posh football fans and foodies alike. The classic menu here includes favourites such as the Gnocchi Bolognese; the Frankie’s Burger Americano; and the Fiorentina pizza made with ricotta, spinach and eggs. We also recommend the New York cheesecake for dessert.
