Bottega Prelibato
Bottega Prelibato restaurant and deli in London's Shoreditch is one of those very special places that, once you discover it, you're torn between keeping it to yourself and telling everyone you know. We're opting for the latter. Bottega Prelibato is a deli during the day and an intimate, authentically Italian restaurant in the evenings. The space is intimate and warm with the friendliest welcome you could imagine. Bottega Prelibato specialises in homemade fresh egg pastas, cured meats and charcuterie, pecorino cheese and a daily changing menu of seasonal specialities like tagliata Toscana and meat dishes like lamb shanks. Caravaggio
A firm favourite with the City’s big spenders, Caravaggio restaurant in London’s Leadenhall Street is a place suited to an important client lunch as well as a romantic dinner. Elegantly appointed in classic furnishings – the building was once a grand banking hall with soaring ceilings tall enough for a mezzanine level - this fine Italian restaurant has a pleasant ambience helped along by the staff who are not only friendly but very efficient too. Most of the creative Italian menu can be ordered at the bar and served in a hurry if you find yourself short on time. However, such is Caravaggio’s charm, you’ll be tempted to linger over the all-Italian wine list and take your time over sunshine-infused pasta dishes, or comforting risottos. If you need further convincing how about this - Caravaggio was opened by no less than famed Italian foodie and opera megastar Luciano Pavarotti.

Gatti's
Gatti's restaurant in the City of London near Liverpool Street Station on Whitecross Place offers both big city sophistication and delicious Italian cooking like mama used to make, all in one sleek package. The plush dining room has loads of personality but with a discreet, masculine air and every bit of white table linen, smart silver and crystal that proper service demands. At lunchtimes the tables are crowded with high-flyers and you get the feeling that big deals are being done. In the evening, Gatti's relaxes into a more intimate ambience, though the service is just as sprightly. Gatti's prides itself on the high quality of its Italian cuisine based on favourite Italian kitchen dishes plus some more upscale offerings, like calves liver cooked in butter and sage or chateaubriand for two with béarnaise sauce. Personal relations with vintners ensure that Gatti's wines make an intriguing, international list.
