toptable Dining Awards 2010 - Runner-up: Best for Value. Despite the name, Angel Curry Centre in London’s Islington in Chapel Market is actually a small and perfectly-formed modern Indian restaurant. Short on neither competition nor regulars, the Angel Curry Centre’s great success is based on excellent, well-presented food at very attractive prices. All your favourites are here on the menu like chicken tikka masala and chicken dupiaza. Side and vegetarian dishes easily match the high standard of the meat dishes. And here’s another pocket-friendly aspect of Angel Curry Centre restaurant: you are welcome to bring your own alcoholic drink and there’s no corkage charge. Yet there’s no rowdiness, the tables of 30 to 50 year olds causing nothing more than a healthy buzz. Angel Curry Centre’s fans are legion and full of praise for the super Indian cuisine, the bubbling atmosphere and the friendly service and, who knows, after dining at this charming restaurant, you may find yourself a new convert.
