Galvin La Chapelle
Critical acclaim has been heaped upon Galvin La Chapelle, a true destination restaurant and with good reason. This fabulous dining spot just off of London’s famous Bishopsgate is the work of celebrated Chef-Restaurateur brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin and epitomises their approach to designing and running restaurants in every sense. Indeed, Galvin La Chapelle has all the wow-factor of Windows with the stylish refinement of Bistrot de Luxe while carving out its own very unique character at the same time. The interior is truly special, as is the food – cosmopolitan, continental and wholly elegant every step of the way, creative but familiar, special but unpretentious – no wonder Galvin La Chapelle was named Tatler’s Restaurant of the Year 2010.

The extensive wine list covers the globe with a special emphasis on French bottles. Iconic furniture, from Eero Saarinen’s Tulip table to Castiglioni-style Arco floor lamps give Plateau restaurant its uber-cool feel, while the buzz created by diners – local office workers and foodies alike – lifts Plateau way above style over substance. Walluc Bistro
Cheese-lovers from far and wide will adore this secret little Savoyarde restaurant which is tucked away on Redchurch Street, a cobblestoned laneway just behind the intersection of Bethnal Green Road and the Shoreditch High Street. Popular with hipsters on a budget and lovers of good Franco-Italian fare, Walluc Bistro is a riot of Alpine charm from the mustard coloured walls and beamed ceilings to the pots of sunflowers and strings of onions hanging overhead. The Walluc Bistro fondues are epic, and we also adore the raclette cheese boards and gigantic servings of pasta which easily feed two. Not for the faint of heart - or the lactose intolerant – Walluc Bistro is a perfect spot for cosy gatherings and celebrations.
