Sphinx Al Sultan Café & Restaurant
It’s probably safe to say that Lambeth North’s Sphinx al Sultan Café and Restaurant is the only eatery of its kind in London, serving the unusual fusion of Egyptian and Thai food. It may be unusual, but the popularity of the Sphinx al Sultan is fair proof that it’s a combination that really does work. The exotic flavours of Far East and North Africa are found across the eclectic and surprising menu with its touches of British and international inspiration too. Situated in a large round conservatory style space, the Sphinx al Sultan is decorated in a similar fusion of Africa and Asia with faux-sarcophaguses sitting alongside low silk cushions and carved elephants.
