Hardy's Restaurant
With over 20 years as a home away from home for many customers, this tranquil neighbourhood gem is definitely one for the little black book. There are three areas to suit the mood: an intimate restaurant with white linen, an informal candlelit brasserie or private rooms, all offering a warm, comfortable Parisian-style decor. During nicer weather there are also romantic outside tables - perfect for canoodling over a glass of wine or two. Menus change every two weeks to reflect the seasons and offer the best of the best of modern British/European cuisine. Starters could include everything from smoked sea trout salad with horseradish dressing to leek, almond and Parmesan tart. Old favourites such as fish and chips with pea purée sit alongside retro classics such as Wiener Schnitzel. Desserts are comfortingly traditional – rhubarb crumble with custard, chocolate tart and gooseberry and elderflower jelly. An eclectic wine list brings the meal together nicely, and with many great bottles for under £20, it's easy on the pocket. A perfect partner to Marylebone life, complete with friendly staff.

Harrison's
Located in up and coming Balham, Harrison’s is the sister restaurant of the much-loved Sam’s Brasserie in Chiswick. This local eatery attracts everyone from the local yummy mummies to a fashionable late night drinking crowd. The dining space uses tasteful tones and woods to create a relaxed environment with cool yet comfy setting. Harrison's modern British menu samples the best of dear old Blighty with hints of international flavour too. Favourites include aged Scottish rib-eye steak served with fries and béarnaise sauce, as well as crispy pork belly with red cabbage, bok choy and star anise jus. Finish with a comforting pudding from the hearty menu of old favourites given a modern twist.

Hereford Road
Set inside a former Victorian butcher’s shop in the trendiest part of West London, Hereford Road restaurant has fast become a favourite with Notting Hill locals and foodies from further afield. The décor is sleek and unfussy, almost minimalist, but the buzz of the open-plan kitchen adds a welcome touch of theatre to the ever-humming restaurant. Having trained under Fergus Henderson and formerly head chef of St John Bread and Wine, chef Tom Pemberton shows his commitment to well-sourced ingredients and hearty flavours in his British cuisine. The menu changes daily to reflect all that is best in the seasons and the market. Our favourites include the braised leg of guinea fowl, loin of Blythburgh pork with swede and greens, and the excellent buttermilk pudding with rhubarb. While the cosy banquettes are well-suited to intimate suppers, Hereford Road is equally inviting at lunch when the prix fixe and express menus are extremely popular.

HIX at The Albemarle
If you're impressed by an excellent pedigree, Hix at The Albemarle at Mayfair Brown's Hotel is undoubtedly the place for you. Celebrating British food and art, this restaurant drips with style with original wood panelling on which artworks by Tracey Emin and Rankin hang. The front of house is run by Restaurant Manager Scott McCaig, previously of Scott's. You can expect your glamorous dining experience to include British classics as well as dishes such as salt-baked Brixham sea bass with Alexanders, or sharing dishes such as slow-cooked shoulder and roasted rump of Warwickshire lamb with Baker's potatoes - but do note that these menus are updated every month as they only use the best British seasonal ingredients and the set menu changes every day.
