Cutting East is a festival that aims to explore youth issues and views in the local area. Part of the East End Film Festival, it’s hoped that it will empower youths by giving them a voice and platform to showcase their talents in the form of film, dance, spoken word, music and event organisation.
The Cutting East organisational group is made up of 15 strong minded, talented young people, aged between 16-21 who come from all over the East End and have different backgrounds and talents in filmmaking and theory, performing arts and music, and share a passion to voice the views of youth in the area.
The group has been busy designing, developing and programming an exciting series of events that will resonate with their peers and engage them to be proactive to stand up and have their voice heard.
