Opened in 1978, Peacock Gym is considered one of London’s most famous and respected boxing gyms. Home to many a world class fighter and some of the top trainers in the country- you could not choose a better gym. Boxing is not just another sport here, it is at the very essence of the Peacock, with an ever increasing membership, the gym has expanded to include many disciplines; Kick Boxing, Muay Thai, Karate, and White Collar Boxing. Personal Training is taught to the highest standard, with many coaches boasting world class credentials. In 2008 the gym opened an academy to use sporting skills and disciplines to inspire young people to learn entrepreneurial and business skills. The programme, working in partnership with the local authority and schools, has been hugely successful and in 2012 was runner-up in the Times National Teaching Awards. The Peacock Gym Academy is an Alternative Education Provider based in Newham. Having been running only four years the academy has already been shortlisted for many awards and won the doclands and city charitable organisation of the year. We currently provide courses in sport and leisure, performiong arts, hair and beauty, bike maintenance, boxing nand fashion and design. Many of our students have behavioural difficulties.
