**To be considered for this you must be qualified as a Registered Nurse with an active NMC Pin or an ODP registered with the HCPC**
As the Lead Theatre Practitioner your key responsibilities include:
Responsible for managing and leading the scrub team in the operating theatre for gynaecology and general surgery
Preparing the operating room, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures related to gynaecology and general surgery
Setting up and maintaining a sterile field
Assisting surgeons and anaesthetists during surgical procedures
Monitoring and assessing the patients condition throughout the surgical procedure
Anticipating the surgeons needs during the surgical procedure
Supervising and mentoring junior theatre scrub nurses
Ensuring compliance with infection control policies and procedures
Maintaining accurate documentation of patient care
Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
A managerial certificate and at least years of senior/managerial experience
Minimum of 5 years experience in theatre scrub nursing, with experience in gynaecology and general surgery
Experience in leading a team of theatre scrub nurses
Comprehensive knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies used in gynaecology and general surgery procedures
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of infection control policies and procedures
The successful Lead Theatre Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £54,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
