Speciality Doctor
An amazing job opportunity has arisen for a committed Specialty Doctor to join an exceptional service based within the Bury area. As a Nurse you will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers.
This special centre provides leading person-centred neurorehabilitation programmes that are bespoke to the severity and complexity of a persons particular neurodisability. They provide care for people with neurodisabilities resulting from acquired brain injuries (ABI), including those caused by traumatic brain injury (TBI) or neurodegenerative conditions such as motor neurone disease or multiple sclerosis
As a Specialty Doctor your day to day duties include:
Ensuring effective liaison with the referrals team to enable you to review referrals and determine appropriateness for admissions
Conducting admissions assessments, risk assessments, reviews and ensuring effective management plans for all service users within the unit.
Allocating specialist psychological treatments, in line with individual needs and assessing physical health, taking special responsibility for medical issues
Supervising and directing the work of other staff who support treatment of service users
Facilitating regular CPA review meetings
Acting as Specialty doctor for service users detained under the Mental Health Act
Opportunity to be involved in clinical governance standards and monitoring for the delivery of the service
Developing protocols as required meeting standard in both psychological and pharmacological interventions.
Provide day-to-day medical input on the units under the supervision of the relevant Consultant.
An ideal Specialty Doctor must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position :
Full GMC registration
Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams
To be in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year
At least 3 years' experience in Psychiatry
Experience working as a doctor within brain injury/ learning disability/ deafness services
MRCPsych
Section 12 (2) approval
AC status
