Client/Business Development Manager

Key Responsibilities:
- Dealing with new incoming enquiries.
- Assisting Lawyers with drafting letters of care.
- Promoting our services to prospective clients and follow up on such enquiries.
- Working with the Senior Partner, Marketing and Client Services teams to develop and execute effective business development and profile raising activities to support objectives identified at Practice meetings.
- Brand management including creation and development of effective marketing collateral including newsletters, invitations, brochures, adverts.
- Management of submissions to legal directories, awards and other third-party surveys and reports.
- Identify advertising and sponsorship opportunities. Manage every aspect from design to final proof.
- Cultivate media opportunities and facilitate publicity that achieves the business goals.
- Manage and advise on article writing activity in practise areas. Manage the placement of articles in appropriate publications.
- Drafts, edits and prepares press releases, statements and quotes.
- Monitoring media coverage and manages distribution as required.
- Shares knowledge, experience and best practice with colleagues in the Marketing team and act as a mentor and sounding board to more junior members of the team.
- Playing an active role as a manager within the Marketing & BD team to ensure the team performs to the highest standards and is well regarded across the firm.
- Own, drive and support the Firm's business development strategy within designated business areas
- Create/redefine business development policies, systems, processes and infrastructure across the Firm.
- Improving sophistication of approach and analysis of client base/work within designated business areas through both capturing and use of intelligence available.
- Assisting partners and fee earners to identify and cross-sell services of the firm.
- Produce internal communications to report to the management about the level of new enquiries, market trends and competitor information.
- Conduct an analysis of current client base and industry sector focus to ensure that all business development opportunities are being thoroughly exploited.

Person Specification:
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
- Knowledge of Italian language highly desirable
- The ability to successfully build and manage relationships and expectations within a diverse client group
- Ability to manage & prioritise an extensive caseload
- Good keyboard skills and competence of Word, Excel and Outlook are required
- High standard of numeracy, accuracy with attention to detail
- A team player with a flexible approach and a willingness to learn
- Outgoing and confident personality who is able to operate on all levels
- A self-starter who is pro-active and can set and achieve goals
- Good standard of education
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Experience in sales or in a sales environment
- Experience in a professional Law firm is desirable.
